The Indian Boxing Federation (IABF) is pleased inform that the Indian contingent heading for participation in the 21st President’s Cup International Boxing Tournament in Jakarta, Indonesia, will also comprise of Ms. Manisha Malhotra as an International Technical Official and Mr Ashok Kumar Panwar who would officiate as an AIBA Referee and Judge. The event which is being organised by the Indonesian Amateur Boxing Federation (Pertina) after a seven-year hiatus is schedule to be held from July 2nd to 9th, 2011.
A familiar face on the Tennis circuit during the last decade, Manisha has won laurels for the country as a Tennis player at the Asian Games, the Olympics, Wimbledon and the US Open. She now works as the administrator for the Mittal Champions Trust. Manisha is also the Chairperson of the AIBA Women’s Commission. She was inducted to the role on 3rd December, 2010 following which she was also appointed as technical delegate for the 2011 AIBA Women's Youth/Junior World Championships in Antalya, Turkey. For the 21st edition of the President’s Cup Manisha has been appointed as the ITO by the Asian Boxing Confederation.
AIBA Start One Referee and Judge Mr Ashok Kumar Panwar will be officiating in his second international tournament. He is a Referee and Judge for the Railway Sports Promotional Board. He made his international debut as an R/J at the Benazir Bhutto Memorial International Boxing Tournament in January 2010, Karachi, Pakistan.
